My yoga classes are vigorous and aerobic, they have a variety of music and themes and are focused on building internal heat, stamina, strength, and flexibility.
Whether you’re highly active, but new to the world of yoga, or establishing a movement practice for the very first time, I’ll help you learn the basic poses and techniques in a way that feels inspiring and accessible.
My hope is that at the end of class you will walk out of the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and with a profound sense of peace and relaxation.
Class recommended for beginners, all level students are welcomed.
Starting a new practice should feel welcoming, not overwhelming.
In this class I will introduce the basics and fundamentals of yoga poses. You will learn the process of proper alignment in the poses, breathing techniques, the use of props in your practice and build confidence in your yoga postures.
I understand that yoga for beginners isn’t one size fits all, so I create introductory classes for all levels, life stages, and aspirations.
If you are new to yoga, the most important thing to remember going into your first class is that yoga is all about you – it’s your practice and nobody else’s.
Don’t hesitate to rest during yoga class if you start to get overly tired or uncomfortable. Yoga should not be forced, so don’t feel that you need to do every pose. Finally, only look to other yoga students for cues on how to move through the poses; don’t compare yourself to them. Don’t hesitate to take a break when needed.
Class recommended for intermediate level students.
Mixed level classes assume that students are familiar with intermediate yoga postures and are designed to enhance your intermediate practice. Poses may be held longer, the classes explore advanced poses are physically demanding and incorporate challenging sequences and variations. Classes are designed to push your practice towards learning more difficult poses and or test your stamina. The pace of these classes is faster, you will allow you to go deeper.
I teach a dynamic style of yoga which joins physical postures, or asanas, with inhales and exhales, creating a steady internal rhythm for the practice. This energetic class is designed to cultivate heat in the body with creative sequences involving sun salutations, standing and seated postures, back bending, arm balancing, and a strong focus on the power of breath awareness.
